Getting to know the tools of the trade
A hands-on introduction using empty hive equipment
Exploring the function of each part of the hive and lifecycle of honeybees
Understanding the beekeeping season and hive management techniques
Essential disease prevention and husbandry practices
Honey harvesting and preparing for winter
Key dos and don’ts for beginner beekeepers
A highlight of the session includes a honey tasting featuring some of Malverleys’ incredible sourdough—an unmissable treat for your taste buds.

After the workshop, you’ll be treated to a seasonal two-course lunch at the Malverleys restaurant. Thoughtfully curated and inspired by our gardens, this meal promises to be a memorable conclusion to your experience.
