What to Expect:
Your morning begins at 9:45am, when you’ll arrive to freshly brewed tea or coffee before diving into the essentials of beekeeping:

  • Getting to know the tools of the trade

  • A hands-on introduction using empty hive equipment

  • Exploring the function of each part of the hive and lifecycle of honeybees

  • Understanding the beekeeping season and hive management techniques

  • Essential disease prevention and husbandry practices

  • Honey harvesting and preparing for winter

  • Key dos and don’ts for beginner beekeepers


A highlight of the session includes a honey tasting featuring some of Malverleys’ incredible sourdough—an unmissable treat for your taste buds.

Lunch at Malverleys:
After the workshop, you’ll be treated to a seasonal two-course lunch at the Malverleys restaurant. Thoughtfully curated and inspired by our gardens, this meal promises to be a memorable conclusion to your experience.
